We are here and happy!

We got back from a great getaway on Sunday afternoon. We were going to go to South Dakota, Mt. Rushmore, etc..., but gas prices being what they are, well...you do the math. We went to Des Moines instead. We actually had a great time! We got there first thing on Thursday morning, set up the camper, and headed out for Salsbury House. This is a home that was built in the 1920's and was modeled after a castle in England. It was beautiful, and reminded us of the Professors house in The Chronicals of Narnia. Ben kept telling the kids "DO NOT touch the artifacts!" Ruby touched 2 artifacts! AHH! The lady's face was priceless!
After the Salsbury House we went to the Science Center of Iowa. Lots of fun! Highly recommend it to anyone! They have the channel 13 news do the weather from there at Noon and 5pm. My kids were on the news with the weatherman! They were all wearing their Team Shaelynn shirts, and the anchorwoman wanted to know all about them! It was such fun!
On Friday we went to Adventureland. Lots of fun...still! They have so many of the old rides, from when I was little! Everyone had a ball! I do recommend it to anyone!
On Saturday we went to Ben's Grandparents house for the morning and had a lovely lunch with them. Thanks Grandpa Doc and Granny Annie!
After lunch we went to the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad. This was so fun too! We rode on an open car, and the scenery was beautiful!
We came home on Sunday, and stopped at the Grinell Airport to see Ben's Uncle Bill. Always a riot to visit with Bill. He has such great stories of Ben when he was little.
All in all a great weekend. Looking back, I kinda wish we had taken some time to relax a little, but thats OK.
With things being a kind of basket upset here at camp, Ben has sooo much on his list. The Brauns will be leaving on the 31st. Kyle and Paige Telecky will be here for the summer as interim manager this summer. A lot to do before camp starts! The Lord knows what he is doing. Pray for this Board of Directors. They have a lot of decisions to make. We are so greatful for them.
Well, the last day of school is tomorrow. Yaaay! I am excited about that! To have the troops around again is such fun!
Thats all for now!
Sarah
