Update

So I thought that I would fill people in on some things that have been happening this week.  Last Saturday we got a call from Ben's mom telling us that Ben's Sister-in-Law Stephanie had been taken to the Hospital.  She and her Mom, and Daniel and Stephanie's 4 kids, were up in South Dakota visiting her Grandfather who is ill with lukeamia.  (SP?)  Stephanie went to Target to get a few things, (her Mom had the kids in the vehicle) while there she apparently passed out.  They called an ambulance, and took her to the local hospital, all the while her Mom and kids were in the vehicle not knowing what was going on.  Daniel was called, and told that they had done a CAT scan and that it showed that she had bleeding in her brain.  Daniel was in Cedar Rapids.  Daniel was told that they were air lifting her to Sioux Falls, as the Hospital there could better deal with the brain injury.  

Ben and my other bro-in-law Steve, drove Daniel to Sioux Falls on Saturday afternoon, and brought all of the kids home with them.  Ashton is 6, Cora is 4, Eli is 2 and Gideon is 5 weeks. The kids are staying with Ben' s folks in Stone City. They have had the stomach flu this week though.

Stephanie has a skull fracture, and swelling in her brain.  She has not had more blood on her brain, so that suggests that the bleeding was from the fall.  They are trying hard to control her pain, right now the only thing that is working is morphine, which they are wanting to get her off of.  We are not sure when she will be discharged.  

Prayer Requests:

Strength for Stephanie.  She is in a lot of pain, and her short term memory is not the greatest right now.  She is missing her kids too, especially Gideon, who is nursing.

For Daniel.  They guy is tired.  She is a bit restless, and so he has not had much chance to get good rest.  Pray for the decisions that he is making, and will have to make.  That his focus will be on what is best for Stephanie, and that he will feel God's presence in this time when it would be easy to feel forgotten by your Savior.  

For the Dr.'s.  That they would be given insight as to how to best help Stephanie. 

For the kids.  Pray that they are spared any scary conversations, and that the transitions that they are going through will go smooth.  Pray for healing from the flu bug they have.  Pray for Gideon that he will remember how wonderful it is to nurse.  That he will be satisfied with the formula that he is currently getting.  That Stephanie and he will have an easy time reconnecting.

Pray for their whole family, as it appears that they will be staying with Ben's parents until Stephanie is well enough.  Pray that the adjustment for both them, and Ben's folks will go smooth.  

Pray that Satan does not find a stronghold in any of this.  That we can stand strong against an enemy who hates families.
